How to use the MP3 Cutter

  1. Add your MP3

Drop your MP3 onto the page or click to pick a file. Most other audio and video formats work too.

  2. Mark the part to cut

Drag across the waveform to mark a section. Switch between Keep selection and Delete selection depending on which part you want.

  3. Cut and download

Listen to the preview, then export the cut as MP3 or lossless WAV. The download starts automatically.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cut only the chorus out of a song?

Select the chorus on the waveform, make sure the mode is set to Keep selection, preview it, then export. You get a new audio file containing just that part.

How do I remove the first 30 seconds of a track?

Select the first 30 seconds (the exact start and end times are shown while you drag, and you can type them precisely), set the mode to Delete selection, and export.

Is the MP3 quality preserved?

Cutting to WAV keeps the audio bit-perfect. Exporting to MP3 re-encodes once at the bitrate you choose — 320 kbps is transparent for virtually everyone.

Do I need to install anything?

No. This MP3 cutter is a web app that runs inside your browser tab. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Where do my files go?

Nowhere. The file is read from your disk by your browser and cut in memory. No upload, no cloud copy, no retention.
