A recorder with a trimming studio attached: capture voice memos, interviews, practice takes or meeting notes, then cut the dead air and export a clean file. Recording and editing both happen in your browser — the audio is never sent anywhere, which makes this comfortable even for confidential conversations.

How to use the Voice Recorder

  1. Allow the microphone

Click Record and accept the browser permission prompt. Recording starts immediately; the timer shows the take length.

  2. Stop and review

Click Stop when you are done. The recording loads into the editor below, where you can play it back and trim the ends.

  3. Export the take

Save as MP3 or WAV. Recordings exist only in this tab until you export them — closing without exporting discards them.

Frequently asked questions

Where do my recordings go?

Nowhere. The microphone stream is captured by your browser and held in this tab’s memory. Nothing is transmitted, and the recording disappears when you close the tab unless you export it first.

What format is the recording?

The browser decides the capture format — Chrome and Firefox record WebM/Opus, Safari records MP4/AAC. It does not matter: exports are converted to MP3 or WAV on your device either way.

Can I trim the silence off the start and end?

Yes, that is the point of the editor below the recorder. Drag across the part you want to keep, set the mode to Keep selection, and export — the dead air disappears.

Which browsers support recording?

Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, plus Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS. If the Record button reports that recording is unavailable, the browser is missing the MediaRecorder API.

How long can I record?

As long as your device memory allows — minutes of speech take very little space (Opus compression is efficient). For multi-hour recordings, export in sections.
